🌿 About These Stems

Our Canadensis is air-dried from cut stems of Solidago canadensis. We harvest at the peak of bloom — when the tiny flowers have fully opened but before any have started to shed — to ensure the plumes stay dense and the golden colour holds through drying. Cut too early and the flowers never fully develop their gold; cut too late and the tiny florets begin to detach, leaving thinner plumes.

The Texture: Goldenrod flower heads are soft, feathery, and cloud-like — the plant equivalent of a well-whisked meringue. Every branching stem carries dozens of tiny flower clusters that collectively form the distinctive plume shape. This is what makes Canadensis such a valuable filler stem: it has genuine visual volume without being heavy or dense, softening arrangements while adding warmth. • Direct sunlight: Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the bright yellow colour. Bright indirect light is fine and won't cause fade issues
• Dust management: Gentle dusting with a soft brush or hairdryer on cool setting keeps plumes clean. The dense flower heads accumulate dust more than architectural stems like Eryngium, so occasional maintenance keeps them looking fresh. Never wash or spray with water
• Handling: Grip firmly by the main stems below the plumes to avoid dislodging tiny florets. The stems are strong and safe to handle — no prickles or sharp edges
