About this bouquet
A hand-tied everlasting bouquet of the finest Norfolk-grown dried flowers, grasses, and seed heads — curated by us into a ready-to-display arrangement that will last for years rather than a week. Unlike fresh flowers, this needs no water, no maintenance, and no arranging skill; unlike imported mass-market dried flowers, everything in the bouquet was grown, cut, and air-dried on our own farm at Salle Moor Hall Farm in Norfolk, without a single dye or preservative.
Every bouquet is genuinely unique, put together by hand using the best of the current season's harvest. We blend structural seed heads (such as Poppies and Nigella ) with vibrant focal flowers (Strawflowers, Statice, Larkspur) and soften the whole arrangement with airy grasses (Bunny Tails, Wheat) The result is textured, rustic, and generously proportioned — the kind of bouquet that turns heads when it arrives and continues to earn its place on your mantelpiece year after year.
💐 What's in Your Bouquet
Each bouquet is uniquely curated from the current harvest, but a typical mix includes:
- Structural Elements — Dried Poppy Heads and Nigella seed heads add architectural anchor points and sculptural quality
- Focal Flowers — Strawflowers (Helichrysum), Statice, and Larkspur bring the vivid pinks, purples, yellows, and whites that define the colour palette
- Soft Grasses — Bunny Tails, Briza, Wheat, and other airy grasses give volume, softness, and movement
- Fillers and Foliage — Canadensis (Goldenrod), Achillea, or seasonal foliage tie the arrangement together
- Signature Details — A few unexpected stems that vary by season — whatever's looking particularly beautiful in the drying barn that week
Because we curate seasonally, the exact composition varies bouquet to bouquet, but the overall style, colour palette, and generous proportions remain consistent. If you want a specific species dominant in your bouquet (for example, "more poppy heads please" or "extra grasses"), leave a note at checkout and we'll do our best to accommodate.
🌿 Two Sizes for Different Purposes
- Medium (£15.50) — A generous hand-tied bouquet, ideal for standard-sized vases, mantelpiece displays, and everyday home decor. A substantial gift that fits comfortably in most rooms without dominating them. Approximate finished width when arranged: 15-20cm across at the widest point.
- Large (£19.95) — A statement bouquet with additional stems for larger vessels, more dramatic displays, and rustic wedding centrepieces. Ideal for hallway console tables, dining room centrepieces, or as an event feature. Approximate finished width when arranged: 25-35cm across at the widest point.
Both sizes have 40-60cm stem length and can be trimmed to suit your chosen vessel.
🎁 The Everlasting Gift
Dried flower bouquets have become one of the most-loved gift options at Bishy Barnabee's Cottage Garden- and for good reason. They arrive perfect, need no immediate care, last for years, and communicate genuine thoughtfulness without the "will these die by next week?" anxiety that shadows fresh flowers.
Ideal Gift Occasions:
- Housewarming — a lasting welcome to a new home, no maintenance required
- Birthdays and anniversaries — a considered gift that lives long past the celebration
- Mother's Day and Father's Day — an alternative to fresh flowers that shows extra thought
- Thank you gifts — substantial, memorable, and appropriately generous
- Sympathy and remembrance — a lasting reminder rather than a temporary gesture
- Wedding gifts — for the couple who value provenance and sustainability
- Christmas and festive giving — the rustic palette suits winter warmth beautifully
Every bouquet arrives carefully packaged to prevent damage in transit.
🏡 Home Decor Placements
The bouquet is designed to work in any typical vessel, but a few placement suggestions:
- Mantelpiece: A Medium bouquet in a substantial vase creates a natural focal point that reads as considered rather than casual
- Console or hallway table: A Large bouquet welcomes guests as they enter and requires zero ongoing care
- Dining table centrepiece: The rustic aesthetic works beautifully with wooden tables and simple ceramic vessels
- Bedroom dresser: The soft palette adds calm colour without any pollen or scent concerns
- Kitchen shelf: Away from steam and moisture, the bouquet adds warmth to a functional space
- Home office: A visual anchor that requires none of your attention or maintenance

Because we grow with the seasons and curate each bouquet by hand from the current harvest, the exact flower mix in your bouquet may vary slightly from the images. What we guarantee: the overall palette will be the same rustic-vibrant mix; the size will match what you ordered; the quality of every stem will be first-grade grown; and the generosity of the arrangement will always feel like proper value for money. What may vary: the exact species proportions, the specific focal flowers, the seasonal fillers used. If a photograph shows something specific you particularly want or don't want, leave a note at checkout.
🛠️ Care Guide — Making Your Bouquet Last
Dried flowers are genuinely low-maintenance, but they have two enemies: moisture and direct sunlight. Keep them away from both and your bouquet will look beautiful for years.
- Keep Dry: Never place in water — the flowers are already dried and will absorb moisture and go limp. Avoid humid bathrooms, steamy kitchens, and places near boiling kettles or humidifiers. A dry hallway, mantelpiece, or living-room shelf is ideal
- Avoid Sun: Direct sunlight will slowly fade the colours over months. Bright indirect light is completely fine and won't cause any issues. A shady corner, hallway, or interior wall is perfect. Colours may still soften gently over time as part of natural ageing — this is normal and often reads as more beautiful over months
- Dusting: Every few weeks, use a hairdryer on the coolest, lowest setting to gently blow dust off the bouquet. Alternatively, a soft brush works well for careful dusting. Never wash, spray, or dampen the flowers
- Handling: If you rearrange the bouquet or move it, hold by the twine binding or the main stems rather than the flower heads. Some minor shedding of seeds (particularly from poppy heads) and tiny florets is normal and expected — sweep them up occasionally and don't worry
- Long-Term: With this care, expect 2 years of beautiful display before the bouquet starts to look genuinely tired. Some customers keep their bouquets much longer, treating the natural colour softening as part of the appeal
