Pilea spruceana (Silver Tree Plant)

The Pilea spruceana is known for its oval silver and black foliage. It is native to areas on South America. It was named after an english botanist who studied many plants in the amazon in the 19th century. Perfect as a houseplant or planted in a terrarium. If the plant flowers pinch them off so that more energy goes in to leaf production. Ensure to repot when becoming root bound as this plant has extensive root systems.

LOVES- Bright, indirect light. Pruning back to half its height in Spring.

HATES- Soggy soil. Dark locations. Low humidity.
